When I was planning my wedding one thing I knew I would be needing was crystals for the tables, I think they look really pretty. I opted for Table Diamantes, I had seen them at a wedding fayre and knew exactly which ones I wanted, I bought mine from www.delights.co.uk.
The Table Diamantes come with simple packaging just a clear plastic bag attached to a cardboard label. I got mine from www.delights.co.uk, where a packet of approximately 1250 crystals costs £4.99.
The crystals I chose actually come in a mixed bag of 2 sizes, 6mm ad 12mm's. They are made from clear plastic and designed to look like faceted diamonds, they are quite sparkly and very pretty. The crystals are available in many colours such as burgundy, cerise, chocolate, clear, gold, lilac, navy, orange, pink and purple so there really is something to fit in with most colour schemes, I chose clear because I couldn't be certain the coloured pink ones would match exactly and I have to have things co-ordinated.
I used my diamante crystals to scatter on the tables around the flower decorations and favours and they looked really pretty, I did wonder if the clear ones would show up well enough against the white table linen but they were perfect. They sparkled when the light hit them and really set the table off. Of course you don't have to use these little crystals just for scattering they look very pretty in little glass dishes or bowls placed where the light hits them, also around the base of candles is another place where they look very pretty too.
Another nice way to use these I have found is to get some plain candles, any shape, slightly warm the wax and press the little crystals into the wax around the bottom, this gives a really glam looking candle that could be used but never right down to the crystals, they have a pointed back so its quite easy to do. If I do this I tend not to use the candle but just use it for decoration. I also decorated a mothers day cake with these just by pressing them in the icing made the cake look really special.
Of course care should be taken when using the table diamantes for cake decoration or candles and always make sure no one, mainly children eat them! I would only ever use them in this way if there were going to be no little people around.
I have also since my wedding bought some different coloured ones and when I have flowers in the house I put them in the bottom of my vase which is clear glass and they look really pretty.
If like me you like a bit of sparkle I can certainly recommend these Table Diamantes, they may only be small pieces of plastic but they add a little bit of glam to many things or occasions.
