First off this monitor is huge. Massive and heavy. But it pays off in quality. The screen is best run at 1280*1024 at 85hz. It will cope with 1600*1200 at 72Hz though which is respectable. The quality of the monitor shows through when you use it to display TV pictures, the trinitron display is crystal clear (except for the two black lines from the wires that hold the bars in place). Always check out whethere you can live with these wires before you buy a monitor like this. The only problem i have ever had is during the summer when the monitor got really hot the screen could turn blue for no reason (overheating? as it runs hot anyway). The controls are on screen and three buttons for navigating the menu, woth two wheels for contrast and brightness. The menu is easy to navigate and allows good options for changing the colour temps. The monitor itself looks quite stylist and fots in nicely with my curved case. The low dot pitch (25) of this monitor also makes it excellent for desktop apps as the letters are really clear at low sizes and hig resolutions. The only issue stoping this monitor getting the full monty of stars is that the base is not attached when you buy it. And fitting the base is a military operation. Imagine trying to change the tracks on a tank with a jack from a Nissan Micra. This monitor was quite cheap £202 inc vat which was cheaper then all other 17 inch trinitrons and a fair few shadow masks. When i saw it next to the Belina 106020 (21 inch) and a sony (sorry i forget which 17 inch trinitron it was) i had no problems picking the ADI, it was better looking , comparable to the sony on screen quality and beat both on price. Overall an excellent monitor which is a good example of the strengths on a Triniton Tube let down by lack of thought for the customer. Extra bonus points for the cool stickers you get and the easy to use CD with drivers etc
