“ Brand: Vaseline / Type: Anti-Perspirant / Suitable for: Body / What it does: Rejuvenates, Refreshes, „
Although I absolutely love the body creams in this ranges and would rave about them. I had yet to find the confidence as a customer to recommend their aerosol range.
Their lastest packaging now includes 'CLINICALLY PROVEN' on the products and so this I am ashamed to admit it led me to buy from them once again despite an epic fail with white marks on a black t-shirt for work. I was hoping this issue had been resolved and some marketing had suggested the new and improved formula was better.
The range now includes a much more compact size that is better, I admit, to carry around when travel or going to the gym.
The range of scents are wider and you have more choice, that aspect I would say VASELINE has done very well, but this still creates white marks.
I tried using less, then more and then gave up. When you spray this whether the can is close or pulled away the spray is fierce and quite strong and forms into a powder almost immediately! I was surprised as I thought maybe I had held the product t close, so I tried again and then the same thing happened only with less ferocity.
It claims to last for 24 hours and although I left this on at home to try it did actually smell nice throughout the day when I was more active in shopping and cleaning etc you could smell and gorgeous scent but I wouldn't recommend this is you were heading out sleeveless.
Vaseline is a real household name; astonishingly, it's been around for over 140 years. It wasn't until quite recently, though, that the brand became more than just petroleum jelly, which was used by families for the healing of cuts and burns, and for dry skin. In 1970, Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion was launched, and it was so successful that the range was expanded to include hand creams, face washes, body washes and deodorants, among other things.
With such an auspicious background, one would be forgiven for thinking that all their products would be effective and reliable, if a bit bland. They come across as your trusty walking boots - hard working day to day products - not your high heels, that you love because they make you feel tall and pretty.
Unfortunately, I didn't quite find this to be the case with my Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh Anti-Perspirant Deodorant (phew!). It comes in two sizes, 150ml and 250ml - unsurprisingly, it usually works out better value to but the bigger one. Usually they're around £1.80 for the small size and £2.60 for the larger size, but I picked it up quite cheaply in Morrisons - 2 x 250ml for £3.50.
The packaging is fairly recognisable as the Vaseline brands: the base colour is white, with details in dark blue. There's also a little green leaf motif to demonstrate the 'aloe fresh' aspect of the product.
When you first spray it, the smell is honestly quite unpleasant. It's very chemically and gives a real kick at the back of the throat if you breathe too much of it - I assume that is the alcohol at work! I know that this is the case with most deodorants, but I've moved on to a Dove deodorant now which is much more pleasant, and I don't remember ever having one that smelt so strong before. The smell is not especially masculine or feminine, so although there is a dedicated 'for men' version of this product, I would imagine most guys wouldn't mind using this if theirs ran out.
I don't find that I get too much in the way of white marks on my clothes with this, which is good. Some deodorants are terrible for that but as long as you keep your distance from your armpits as you're spraying you can put plenty on and you won't have to worry. It also dries quite quickly as well, so you're not doing the birdie dance round the room before you can put your top on! The product claims to look after your underarms, even containing aloe vera which I assume is designed to soothe them. There's no stinging or pain when I use this, and the skin itself has remained in good condition - although I don't think it's any better than with any deodorant I've used.
I find that this product lasts well enough through a working day - when I'm sat in the air-conditioned office and not moving about too much. But unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be able to cope with anything more strenuous than that. If it's a particularly hot day, or crowded on the bus, or I have to run somewhere, or I have to climb more than 3 flights of stairs, then I so start to feel slightly damp underneath my armpits. [WARNING: gross discussion about sweat is about to commence!] I don't really notice any smell but I do get really paranoid about it! My husband insists that I smell fine when I make him take a sniff (under great duress) but the last thing you want during a busy day at work is to be stressed out about whether you smell okay! Also, the wet feeling under my arms is a bit unpleasant. And to clarify, I'm not in general a sweaty person at all. It's a shame that this huge, well-known, experienced brand just doesn't deliver on performance.
Unfortunately this product is a PMDL. It Promises Much, but Delivers far too Little.
Recommended if you: don't mind being a sweaty betty.
Not recommended if you: like to feel fresh and worry free all day!
I bought this anti-perspirant a few weeks ago, basically because it was the only one the Co-Op had in-stock. My experience is that big named brands generally don't work that well; Lynx, Sure, Nivea, ect. have all let me down in the past, so I was a bit unsure about buying it, but after using it I'm so glad I did. Don't know if it is made for men or women as the smell is very unisex; it does not smell overly feminine or masculine and it works perfectly. I personally struggle to find anti-perspirants which work well for me, so when I found this one I vowed never to go back to the useless brands I had tried before. Don't get me wrong, you will still sweat, I have to do a 40 minute walk to University every morning so naturally I do sweat, but it is significantly less than I have done on the same walk with a different anti-persperant. The main downside of it, though, is that it's small so you have to buy it more often, unless you can find the large one! However, I can honestly say that I would recommend this product to anyone, male or female. Vaseline Aloe Fresh all the way!
I am having the devil of a problem finding a good antiperspirent that doesn't bring me out in a rash. I've tried so many now, so when I saw this one, I thought I'd give it a go.
The can says that it has 0% alcohol and suggests that it is kind to skin, plus it is supposed to give 24 hour protection and contains something called Pro-Derma, so I thought what the heck...
The first thing I liked about the spray was that it went on dry. The scent was also really nice. I'm sure I smelled freesias, though it is supposed to be aloe vera.
Anyway, there was no tell-tale tingling as it went on and I left it and got on with my day. It has been fairly warm of late, so I expected to perspire more than usual, which did happen and I found that after a couple of hours I needed to reapply the spray. That's when the itching started and after a few minute my armpits were alive! I had to wash it all off again. I have tried again since, and to be honest the same thing has happened. It's a real shame as it started off so well, kept me dry for a while, then it all went pear-shaped! If I hadn't had the allergic reaction I think it would have been a good antiperspirant. Despite having to reapply after a couple of hours, it did keep me dry for a while and wasn't at all sticky. I think if you haven't got a sensitve skin like mine, this would be a good spray.
I wasn't too worried though. My 150ml bottle only cost me £1, so not much wasted. It is also sold in 250ml cans at £2.59.
The ingredients are as follows:
Butane, Isobutane,Propane, Cyclomethicone, Aluminium Chlorohydrate, Parfum, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Maltodextrin, BHT, Cholesterol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Lecithin, Tocopherol, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Propylene Carbonate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Farnesol, Geraniol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Limonene, Linalool.
I'm back to square one again and trying something else now. Will let you know about that one when I see how it goes!
I originally purchased Vaseline Anti-Perspirant Aloe Fresh after discovering my usual brand of Anti-perspirant spray had gone up to almost £3 a bottle. And boy am I glad I did!
The deodorant has a lovely fresh aroma to it, which isn't over powering and doesn't catch the back of your throat. The powder is lovely and fine and doesn't clog up on your underarms, meaning it doesn't leave white marks on your clothes.
I am an active person and also work in a hot and demanding environment. This deodorant kept me dry and smelling fresh all day, and also manages to keep me fresh during a heavy gym session (although towards the end my perspiration was visible, but still carried a lovely aloe aroma.)
I would definitely recommend people use this product, and in my local supermarket it is often around £1 which is a great bargain. All of my friends have now switched over to using Vaseline Anti-Perspirant and will never look back ;)
I have used alot of deodorant products. And this was one of my favourites for sensitive skin. Aloe being one of the few products to sooth skin.
Although Vaseline is better none for their lip balm I think this product is superb! Not an overly flashy tin but the product is amazing.
The smell isn't over powering and isn't sickly smelling either. It's a very fresh smelling product.
The product has been known to last me for a few weeks because it just seems to go on and on and on. It's a great deodorant.
It leave no visable stains on clothing and doesn't irritate my skin even just after shaving. I can pop it in my bag for a night out and it's not too bulky.
I've been known to reccoment the product to my friends who have sensitive skin aswell and they agree that this is one of the best products out on the marke for sensitive
The brand Vaseline is best known for their famous petroleum jelly. I was unaware that they made anti perspirants until I was shopping in Co-Op the other day. I usually buy other makes, however it was on offer so I thought I would try it out.
It comes in your average anti perspirant can - very simple. However, this can was really quite simple and not that pleasant to look at. The lid can be placed on and off with ease and I had no problems with the nozzle at all.
I hate the smell of normal anti perspirants, and often when you have sprayed it, it tends to go up your nose and can make you sneeze sometimes. Therefore, when purchasing these, I will always try to find one that is scented. This particular one is aloe fresh, and it is a very lovely, fresh scent unlike your average anti perspirant. The scent does last under arms for an hour or two, however it seems to disappear later on.
I was extremely disappointed with this anti perspirant, simply because it left my under arms white. I thought at first perhaps I was not using it correctly, however after shaking it consistantly, and holding it thirty centimetres away from my skin, I still managed to get flaky bits. This is very annoying, especially if you are in a rush, therefore I was not happy with it what so ever!
It claims to give twenty four hour protection, and I did not feel that twenty four hours of protection were delivered from this anti perspirant. It did deliver results, and my under arms felt fresh for a number of hours, although I did need to spray again once in the day. I did not find this very convenient as I would like an anti perspirant that could last throughout the day, bearing in mind I was not doing any exercise or anything of strenuous activity. I definately would not recommend this to you if you do a lot of walking or exercise, because it simply will not give you the protection you are after. It is however fine if you are just popping out for a couple of hours, and I do think it would last if you were just applying it for a night out - twenty four hours, perhaps not.
It is a great product if you have sensitive skin, and as under arms are a very delicate area, you should always watch out when choosing anti perspirant. I do not suffer from sensitive skin generally, but I do get reactions to certain anti perspirants. Vaseline are a very caring brand, so it is worth checking out their range if you do suffer from sensitive skin.
If you are interested in this, it is available from a wide range of places. I got mine from Co-Op so it is worth checking out your local supermarkets. Mine was on offer for £1 and full price it is no more than £2. Pharmacies are also likely to store this product.
Overall, I was not impressed with this anti perspirant, and I don't think I will buy it again. The smell is lovely, but it is too flaky and does leave some white marks. Two DooYoo stars, sorry Vaseline - I think it is best to stick to petroleum jelly. Thanks for reading.
I absolutely love this deodorant and wouldn't change it for the world. There are several options available in the range for both men and women but my favourite is the Aloe Fresh anti perspirant deodorant. It has such a fresh long lasting scent and gives great protection that really lasts. It doesn't leave white marks on the skin or on clothing like other similar deodorants on the market and doesn't cause any damage or dryness to the skin. It comes in a 150ml spray can which costs around £1.48 from most retailers (Tesco occasionally have a buy one get one free offer on this product). Only a small amount of spray is required for great long lasting protection so the small tin goes along way. I believe it also comes in a larger tin of 250ml volume but I've only seen this in the shops a couple of times. I've never been tempted to change deodorant and would recommend this product to anyone who is unhappy with their current brand.
This is my favourite deodrant and I always make sure I have a supply of it to hand.
Vaseline Intensive Care Anti-Perspirant is available in several fragances, but I opt to use the aloe fresh version. This deodrant has a fresh smell to it as the name suggests. I don't find that the fragance lasts all day, but I would say that it does do what it says, and keeps me fresh all day, even if the scent has faded.
The deodrant usually comes in a 150ml aerosol bottle, although I have seen bigger aerosals for sale recently. The packaging is very simple - a white based bottle with blue and green text, and the Vaseline logo. The packaging has recently been updated and therefore now looks a little different to the photo on this website. I wouldn't say that the packaging is eye catching, but it does have a simplicity about it.
According to the information provided, the deodrant is:
* suitable for sensitive skin;
* alcohol free, non sting formula;
* dermalogically tested;
* keeps you dry all day; and
* light fresh fragance.
I would agree with all these points. Even if I spray the deodrant on, not long after shaving, there is no stinging sensation. I also have sensitive skin and I do not find that this irritates it as some brands do. And as I have already said, it does keep me dry all and day and has a light fresh fragance. What I like about the fragrance is that it is subtle and not over powering. When you first spray it, you can smell the scent, but it doesn't give you a headache or overpower any perfume you might be wearing.
The aerosol works the same as all other aerosols and it's very easy to aim the spray where you want it.
A 150ml aerosol costs between £1-£2 depending on where you buy it. I tend to wait until it is on offer and then buy a couple.
Overall, a good fresh anti perspirant that lasts all day.
I bought this anti-perspirant deodorant as part of a buy one get one free deal in Sainsbury's back in August. Both bottles combined have lasted me over four months.
The product prides itself in providing 24 hour protection. The scent is fresh and very sanitary smelling. When different products promote themselves as having been infused with Aloe Vera their scents are often poles apart despite being advertised as being Aloe Vera inspired. This scent has the slightly familiar scent of Aloe Vera but is quite ambiguous in its smell. The aroma nonetheless is quite pleasing but definitely nothing different or out of the ordinary.
For me this product does not provide 24 hour protection. I do find my under arms sweating in the middle of the day at work when I use this but I could say the same for every other anti-perspirant out there, so this may be a personal issue. Having freshly shaved underarms everyday may aid this process. As a deodorant however it is satisfactory to good, it is generally only after a days work when I return home in the evenings that I begin to notice its effects wearing off.
I would definitely buy this product again based on how long both bottles combined have lasted me (nearing five months).
I was given this anti-perspirant deodorant by Grandmother recently. She claims to have won it in a raffle at one of her OAP groups, but prefers roll on (I'm hoping thats the real reason, and not because she thought I whiffed!)
It comes in a 150ml can, which is white, blue and pale green. The colours of the bottle certainly compliment its Aloe fresh descripton.
If you hadn't already guessed, it contains aloe vera. It also contains skin caring ProDerma, and after a quick read on the back of the tin, I'm told this is a '"Unique blend of ingredients that helps to protect the underarm skin & make it less prone to irritation" It also offers 24 hour protection and contains 0% Alcohol.
As I was given this I had no idea of cost, but a quick scout about the web shows it to retail at around £1.60.
~ What did I think?~
I used this after showering and shaving this morning. My first thought was that it didn't sting (and now reading the can I know why and can confirm this claim!) My second was what an amazing smell. It really is very light and fresh smelling. I can smell the aloe vera, but I also get a citrus fruity smell. Not over bearing but just a faint hint. I do prefer a fruit smell to floral, so this was an immediate tick. Thirdly, it didn't clump then flake. It dried invisable very quickly, and didn't mark my clothing.
Its now been 14 hours since I applied this, although I did top up once during the day, more for a refreshing burst than because I needed too. I've just sniffed and the lovely, light fragrance is still there. My underarms do feel soft and pampered. I'm going to have another spray, then off to bed. I doubt one aplication would last a full 24 hours, but most of the day is pretty good anyway!
I will definitely purchase this when I finish my freebie canister. I noticed while researching the price theres other aloe fresh products available from Vaseline , and as i like the smell so much I'll be purchasing those too.
I have recently brought this anti-persppirant mainly because I love using the vaseline lip rescue and has done wonders for my lips and so thought I would treat my underarms a little too.
It comes in an aerosol can like all other deodrants, it has at the top the traditional vaesline logo this is nice and bold and so you can tell straight away which brand it is from the lid is also made from plastic and is the matching blue colour. The rest of the can is white apart from the sweep of green colour which I am assuming is too represent the aloe vera. There is also a little symbol which looks like a clock next to it it lets you know you have 24 hour protection.
The deodrant is symbol to use just by pressing down on the top and out it sprays. When spraying this I noticed how dry it felt which is great as I feel as though whatever I do I wont be covered in sweat. It also has a very clean and fresh smell to it similar to that of talcolm powder.
It really does give you 24 hour protection as all through the day I can smell this deodrant and have even found by the next morning I can still smell it!
This is definatly a great deodrant which I think I'll be buying again!
I decided to try Vaseline Intensive Care Anti-Perspirant Aloe Fresh when I was going on holiday and knew I'd be in short strappy tops with my armpits on show. I thought this might make my under arm skin smooth.
I have to say that no matter how moisturising a deoderant is, at the end of the day it is intended to block your pores and stop you from sweating so inevitably it makes the skin a bit ugly while it on, even if the skin is smooth afterwards. At the end of the day, your underarms are only ever deoderant free for a few minutes a day so the soft smooth skin doesn't get much of a chance to be shown off!
I found that this deoderant didn't keep me fresh all day. Maybe this was because of the moisturising properties. I constantly felt like I had a massive load of moisturiser under my arms. I didn't smell of BO but neither did I smell of flowers. It was the sensational I didn't like.
But it did it's job ok. I didn't smell and my armpits were lovingly moisturised. I guess I'm just someone who prefers something a bit drier under my arms.
Having used roll on anti perspirant for numerous years I was in the supermarket recently when I spied a 2 for one notice for a spray on antiperspirant Vaseline Intensive care. Not being a slow female idiot I'm one for a bargain you see so I decided I would make a sudden purchase against all the odds.
3 weeks later i was so impressed that i thought I would share my experience with you.
The packaging is nice to hold and ample clear instructions are situated all around it.
The cool spray is quite invigorating and so much better than the greasy roll -on product I had been using for so many years. no more swinging my arms around waiting for the chemicals to dry, it's instantaneous and oh how lovely is the aroma. What's more it lasts all day and really keeps you feeling fresh well into the evening.
It lasted a good time and there was nothing left in the bottom that would not come out. Disposal of the container was easy with the local recycling plant
I will not hesitate to purchase at the full price.
I had always been quite happy with my Vaseline Anti Perspirant Deodorant spray. Recently though I had started to cough and sneeze each time I used it. So I decided it was time for a change.
I had a good look at the other alternatives but I did not see anything I fancied. Then I had a look at the roll on anti perspirants. I spotted the Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Fresh roll on among the huge selection. I decided this was the one for me as I had always like the protection Intensive Care had given me.
As with everything from soap to soup this is a Unilver product.
The one I chose is the Aloe Fresh anti perspirant. This roll on comes in a small white bottle with a white cap. The cap is at the bottom of the bottle. I assume this is so that the ball stays moist.
The blue coloured Vaseline Intensive Care label is on the front of the bottle. The label at the back tells you the ingredients and also states that it is a 50ml bottle. There is a small tab at the bottom of this label which you can peel off to reveal the directions for use and the contact details.
When I took off the cap there was a delicate fragrance. The ball is a good size and rolls very easily and smoothly onto my skin. The anti perspirant feels soft and gentle on my skin.
The deodorant does take a few minutes to dry on my skin. Once the deodorant has dried in I never have any problems with white marks. On occassions when I used the spray version of this I did get a few white marks. This is probably because I used to spray and not allow it to dry in. With the roll on I am concious of the fact that I have to let it dry completely.
I have been told that there are two kinds of sweat. The sweat the body makes when hot and the sweat produced when we are stressed or emotional.
I can honestly say that this little bottle works well for me, for both types of sweat. It keeps me dry all day and even when I am hot and bothered the fragrance is very subtle.
This is by no means the most expensive roll on deodorant on the market. It cost me just £1.09 in Tesco. It lasts for ages and I think it is great value for money.
Will I buy this again? - Yes definitely.
