I normally use an aerosol deodorant however last week when I run out I asked my mum to pick me up a deodorant and save got me this one. She tells me it was a £1 in Asda. The deodorant comes in a glass cylinder shaped bottle with a roller ball on the top. The deodorant has a label which is split in two one side black and one side white. In the middle it states that it gives 48 hour protection. The deodorant claims that it will prevent stains on white clothes by not building up on your clothes and preventing white marks on black clothing with it's special formula. The deodorant is also dermatologically approved and contains no alcohol or colour. I find the roller ball on this deodorant a little small compared to other brands I have tried. The first time I used this I also thought it felt thick and gloopy. After I applied it my underarms felt sticky and I thought the deodorant would never dry. It did however surprise me and it dried very quickly. The deodorant has a nice scent it's slightly floral but not too overpowering. I applied this after a shower in the morning before work. The deodorant didn't sting after shaving either. I have been using this for just over a week and it is very good at preventing sweat patches and keeping me feeling fresh. I can't say that I get a build up of stains on my tops unless I wear a stick deodorant so I can't comment on how effective this is at preventing staining. However because it is clear it doesn't mark black clothing. I like this deodorant although I wouldn't buy it again for me I prefer Sure aerosol. It is still effective and good at it's job and I would give it 3 out of 5 stars I have deducted another star because of the glass bottle, I am not a fan of this and when I went away for a few days last week I was conscious of the fact it could break in my bag.
I purchased this deodorant from Boots for around £1.25, with the promise of "protection from yellow stains and white marks" and a 48 hour barrier. The deodorant does provide protections from yellow stains and white marks exceptionally well. The deodorant itself is quite a thick, clear liquid, which feels quite sticky when applying but dries fairly quickly and the general consistency of the product is good. I am not a fan of spray on deodorants, and I think the white stick types can become quite dry and flaky over the day, but this product does not have that problem. It remains clear throughout the day even when dry. It has lasted me a long time too, around a few months. However, in my experience using this product I have found that it barely lasts 10 hours, and when exerting slightly more effort than usual, even less. This is a major downside as it claims to last 48 hours. Furthermore, I have found it has a strange smell throughout the day. To begin with it has a pleasant frangrance, but I found that I could smell the product throughout the day and it gradually changed fragrance, which I did not like. I would also add that the packaging is unpractical. It is quite a handy size for putting in your handbag, but it is in a glass bottle and so I was reluctant to carry it with me in case it smashed and leaked over the contents of my bag. Some of the other products in the Nivea Invisible range are in plastic containers and I would suggest that this should be too. Overall, I think there are better products on the market, but this particular deodorant does provide good protection against yellow stains and white marks as it claims. However it is not as reliable as other products in terms of it's durability.
I'm reviewing Nivea black & white roll-on deodorant. It cost me £2 in Tesco, and I found that this is rather the average price for it. ***WHY I CHOSE IT*** I used to use nivea cream a lot and always loved the smell of it, so when they branched out into deodorants I was more than happy to try them out. I've used a few different ones over the years , but this is my present one and I bought it because I like the light fragrance and trusted the brand. ***USING*** I love using roll-ons and can't get along with spray on deodorants at all. They just don't feel the same. There is something so satisfying about feeling that cool ball rolling across your skin while it delivers a nice light fragrance and a layer of protection precisely where it is needed most . This one is lovely and light and suits me perfectly for day wear. It gives off a sweet but not cloying smell and if you want it stronger then wait a few minutes and apply more, or roll a quick stroke down your arm to the wrist (which I often do), but really, it is after all a deodorant rather than a perfume and it's lighter smell is much better anyway for days when you want to use a perfume with it.....less clashing. As a deodorant I'm very happy with how it works . I never notice any staining on the underarms of any of my tops after using it. No yellowing on the white or light tops & no white stains on the dark ones, and my tops still smell of this when taken from the laundry bin for washing, so it does last well aroma wise .For me it IS effective and is one I use a lot, till I get bored and want try something else, but that is a reflection on my changing moods and not the deodorant and it's quality. My one gripe is the glass bottle. Yes,I know, glass is good, but I have a horror of dropping it on my bathroom tiles and so I keep it for using in the bedroom where there are wooden floors and rugs ,so less chance of smashing if it DOES fall. Quite a solid bottle too, so if I were to drop it from any height onto my foot I can foresee much screaming ensuing. However I won't deduct a star over such a small personal quibble. Would I recommend ? Yes. Thank you for reading ~~~myloh
When it comes to deodorants I tend to stick to branded ones that I have heard of and ones that are good value for money so when I spotted this Nivea one costing only a pound in my local Poundland store I picked it up, however I only usually use spray anti perspirants so this roll on was something of a bit of a new concept for me as they are really not what I usually use and I only bought it because there was not a lot else instore at the time that took my fancy. The Packaging: This comes in a glass, tallish bottle with a large white frosted roller ball to the top of it and a whiteish/ pinkish frosted twist on/off lid to the top of it. On the front of the bottle there is a black, white and pink coloured label and on that we are told that it is Nivea 'Invisible', For Black & White '48h' Anti - Perspirant Deodorant and that it gives 'Protection from yellow stains & white marks' and that is it 50ml in size. On the back of the bottle other information listed tells us to use the product up from within 12 months of opening it and contact details for the manufacturer are given. Nice enough bottle this is and easy to use and so on. The Deodorant Itself: To use this of course you apply this to clean and dry armpits which is how I apply it of course. The liquid is clear and goes on cold and dries within seconds leaving no sticky residue behind itself at all and I'm able to get dressed very fast indeed which is good currently in this cold weather and once its applied I can totally forget about it. When applied this has a sort of cotton fresh aroma to it, not fruity or floral but rather unisex really and fresh though subtle and not one bit in your face. The only problem this light scent has is that it doesn't linger about on my skin for above half an hour however to be fair to it, it really does fulfill its promises! This leaves no white marks on me or my clothes and nothing yellow coloured either. Its really kind to my skin and even if I work out after applying this I do not smell ever. I have never applied this and not had bath or shower within 48 hours though but I have left it on me a good 24 hours and no nasty BO or whiffs appear at all thankfully and I feel confident when I have used this. All In All: You don't need to plaster loads on, it doesn't feel likes its been applied at all once it has been and works really effectively however I would like a bit of a longer lasting aroma but its good for a pound a go and even if bought in places like Boots or Superdrug still doesn't cost over a couple of pounds so value it is! Thumbs up for Nivea once again me thinks! This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.
THE BRAND _________ Here is just a quick introductioon to the brand Nivea, now most of us have used it in one form or another but how much do you really know? Well, the company was made in 1882! and is founded originally in Germany. The name Nivea comes from the Latin word niveus/nivea/niveum, meaning 'snow-white' The company started out with tanning oils, shaving creams, shampoo and facial toners, where as nowadays they also make all skin care, make up remover and sun protection. THE PRODUCT ______________ Nivea Invisible roll on deodrant, desgned to leave no marks on clothes- dark or light. It protects from wetness and odor. It has 48 hr protection and is dermatologically approved. It contains no alcohol or colours and lasts 12 months. This deodrant can be found in most supermarkets and looking today it costs around £1 for a 50 ml bottle. MY EXPERIENCE ________________ I first came across this when i was abroad and had ran out of my normal deodrant, i dont use aerosols ( its bad for you) and this was the only roll on they had. It is in a tall glass bottle which is see through and has a white lid, which you screw off to get to the roller ball. They lable is black and white to go with the theme, and it comes in 2 different smells, the blue and the pink..... my guess is for men and women, but thats just a guess. I have the pick one. It is easy to use and i find it the right size to hold onto. The liquid is clear and thick, and smells sporty and faintly floral. It comes in a 50ml bottle and that lasted me about 2 mmonths of normal everyday use. MY OPINION _______________ Well firstly the price is very good for such a good brand. The deodrant smells nice and is absorbed quickly, I can get dressed straigtht away. It is true to its advertising, it doesnt show up on any clothes, black or white and Iv found the strength very good as it hasnt let me down once yet and Im a dance teacher so Im always on the go.Its also very gentle to skin and has a mouisturisig effect. I like the fact the bottle is see through as you can see how much you have left. One downside and the only one i can think of is the bottle is made of glass and is quiet heavy, now Im lucky in that I havent dropped it yet, but I wouldnt like to because although its very thick strong glass, I think it might smash- especially on tiled floor. So it loses one star as I wouldnt want to clean up the mess if it smashed, but apart from that the deodrant is great and works very well, I will be buying it again and I now think its my favorite. Thanks for reading and rating, AmyBoo
Nivea are known for their nourishing skin care, not neccessarily their deodrants, so I was keen to see if they could cross over from beauty into hygiene. The roll-on cost me around £3.50. PACKAGING The roll-on comes in a clear, solid, glass container which allows you to see the deodrant itself. I found this intriguing as it's rare you see the deodrant as a liquid. It has a simple white, pink and black label which takes up musch of the container and a curved lid which is easily unscrewed. The curve reflects the curve of the roll on - shaped perfectly to easily follow the arc of your underarm. It's a simple design with a quirky design feature of being able to see the deodrant inside. I found this particularly useful as I could determine when to stock up on deodrant in advance. THE DEODRANT - Scent - The deodrant had a light, fresh, feminine scent - not a particularly clean or sterile smell. This reflected the fact the product is particularly designed for keeping marks at bay, and not neccessarily for keeping your feeling clean all day long. The scent is pleasant, though can be smelled quite distinctively. The scent does not however clash or overpower perfumes or body sprays. - Marks - The deodrant did exactly as it says on the can. I had no marks of any kind whilst using this product, even when doing moderate exercise. - 48 hour promise - Unfortunately I found that I wanted to reapply the deodrant, or shower completely, before the 48 hour time was up. This wasn't neccessarily to do with the deodrant failing, but instead I tended to feel unclean by this stage. I would say however, based on my own experience, that I do not believe I'd feel and smell as fresh as I originially did after 48 hours - though, I would project that marks would still be at bay. - Gentle on skin - The deodrant was delicate and gentle on my skin. I found this particularly useful as I have very sensitive skin. I suffered no irritation whilst using this deodrant. * Smells feminine, fresh and light * Doesn't make you feel clean and energized * Keeps marks at bay * Good for my sensitive skin * Long-lasting as a product itself
Firstly, I think I should admit that I don't spend much time considering deodorants and usually buy whatever is on offer providing I like the smell. I found this Nivea deodorant in Superdrug for the bargain price of £1 a few weeks ago. I hadn't used this one before and was a recent convert to roll on deodorants, having previously been a fan of the aerosol variety before receiving an Avon gift basket containing a roll on deodorant that swayed my preference in the direction of the smaller, more environmentally friendly deodorant option. ***Packaging*** This anti-perspirant deodorant is presented in a clear glass bottle that is slightly indented at the back to enable easy handling while applying. On the front of the bottle is a sticker, at the top of which is the famous white and navy Nivea name; below this the label is black on one side and white on the other with a smidge of baby pink. ***What it claims*** There is minimal information printed on the bottle, but what is written promises that this deodorant provides anti-perspirant and deodorising effect for 48 hours and that whether you decide to dress yourself in black or white, there will be no tell tale signs of your deodorant e.g. no unsightly yellow stains on white clothing and no white marks on black. ***Using the deodorant*** Like most roll on deodorants there is a screw top lid, that when removed reveals the usual roller ball. It has quite a strong fragrance that is noticeable almost straight away, however, it is not over powering. The scent is fresh and floral and reminds me slightly of the smell of some fabric softeners, but not in a bad way. The roller ball glides easily over my under arms, leaving behind a wet layer of deodorant that dries surprisingly quickly. Regardless of whether I put my clothes on when the deodorant is still wet or dry, there are no marks or stains of any kind left behind and my under arms smell as fresh as a daisy. ***My thoughts*** I actually really like this deodorant. I spend a lot of time running around at work and at the end of my shift, my under arms still hold a hint of floral freshness and as an anti-perspirant I think it is very effective. I can't really comment on its effectiveness up to the 48 hour mark as I have usually showered and re-applied way before that point. As I previously mentioned, I bought this deodorant a few weeks ago and in that time have not noticed any of the usual marks left behind when using a deodorant. I like the fact that it is in a clear glass bottle as this enable you to see how much of the deodorant is left so you know when you need to go shopping for more. This deodorant has lasted me a long time and is very effective despite only being applied once a day. ***Price and Availability*** The price of this product varies depending on where you shop. As I said I bought this when it was on offer at Superdrug for £1 but I think its usual price is around £1.99 at both Superdrug and Boots, however both stores have regular offers on Nivea products so if you keep your eyes peeled I'm sure you could find it cheaper. ***Overall*** I think this is a great anti-perspirant deodorant that it great value for money, especially when bought when it is on offer. I would definitely purchase it again and recommend it to a friend.
These days my deodorant of preference is the new Body Shop one which I love but, if I get a decent voucher from Boots or Tesco, I am happy to try others. This is how I came to be using Nivea Invisible Black and White Deodorant. I always choose the roll on version of deodorants which I find convenient and easy to use. I have always found the aerosol ones catch the back of my throat and make me cough when I spray them. The other problem in our house is that Mew (our cat!) hates anything that I have to spray into the air as the mist settles on him and he runs away as though his tail is on fire! As I said earlier I bought my deodorant with a voucher so I only paid a few pence for it but it is currently on sale in Boots at £1.99 for 50ml although they are currently on offer at two for £3 across the Nivea range. If you do like Nivea deodorants it is always worth waiting for offers in Boots as they come along with great regularity. Anyway let's get down to business and review the Nivea Invisible Black and White deodorant. Unusually the container for the deodorant is made from glass which of course is recycleable, so I am happy with that. The label on the front has the dark blue Nivea logo and, not surprisingly, is in black and white (with a bit of feminine pink) if you want to find it on the shelves. The information on the label tells me that this deodorant will give me gentle care and will protect my clothes from yellow stains and white marks. This is something that is great for me as being a little on the cuddly side I tend to wear dark colours a lot - they are more slimming than pastels! LOL! The glass container stands in the bathroom cupboard with the plastic screw on lid at the top. The lid of the container is rounded at the top which means that, when the container is almost empty and I need to stand it upside down to make sure that I use all the deodorant before recycling the glass, it is not an easy job. I am used to using the Body Shop deodorant which, although it stands upright with the ball at the top, the lid has a flat top so it is easy to stand it upside down once it is almost finished. Sorry Nivea that's one up to Body Shop in my opinion. The glass container itself has a sort of dent in the back of it which makes it easy to grip. Once you have unscrewed the cap you will find a fairly big ball - ooer missus! This makes actually applying the deodorant to your underarms nice and easy. The deodorant always runs freely and I have had no problem with it drying out. This deodorant smells really nice and although I find fragrances very difficult to describe I will have a go. It is sweet and flowery without being sickly - I would say that it is more of a fresh clean sort of fragrance if you see what I mean. It feels wet when I apply it but it does dry very quickly which is a big advantage for any roll on deodorant as far as I am concerned. At least it means that I don't have to walk round that bathroom flapping my arms up and down before I can get dressed. The deodorising and antiperspirant effect lasts all day even in hot weather, and when I am out in the garden sawing and chopping wood for our log burner! I also work on the prom here in Llandudno every Sunday selling lifeboat souvenirs and, despite the fact that I am running about for about nine hours, I still have fresh underarms. Let's face it - it wouldn't be very nice for members of the public if I had BO! Yuk! On Sunday I wear a dark navy blue polo shirt or a black tee shirt and there are never any white marks from this deodorant. I also find that I can get dressed quickly in the morning without getting any marks on my clothes too. Being a roll on, it is in a small container making it ideal to take on holiday, and as it contains no propellant it can be taken on an aeroplane with no fear of explosions. The only problem here is that, being a glass container, it is heavier than the ones in plastic containers. The other advantage of using a roll on deodorant is that it is kind to the environment, as it does not contain any CFC gases. In conclusion I would have to say that I am very impressed with this deodorant - it works well, it doesn't leave any marks on my clothing and I love the fragrance!
I was recently looking to buy a new deodorant but wanted something that wasn't going to leave white marks on my new black dress, hunting around my local Superdrug I came across Niva Invisible, claiming to be suitable for both black and white clothing it was perfect for what I wanted, it happened to be on offer at the time which made it even more prefect. Packaging Nivea Invisible deodorant comes in the traditional glass bottle, the bottle is rounded and is slightly shaped at the back making it easy to grip when applying it. There is rectangle label stuck on the front of the bottle, this has the word Nivea written right at the top in white writing within a dark blue rectangle. The label is actually divided in 2 with half being black and the other half white to symbolise the fact that the deodorant is suitable for both black and white clothing, in other words it leaves no white marks on black clothing and no yellow marks on white clothing, this is stated on the label on the front of the bottle, it is written right at the bottom of the label in pale pink writing, this stands out clearly against the white and black half of the label. The word invisible is written across the middle of the label with of the word written in black and the other half white to contrast the background it is written on, there is also a small picture of a black t shirt and a white t shirt at the bottom of the label. There is also a pick circle in the middle of the label with 48h written in the middle of it in black. The ingredients of the deodorant is written on a peel able label on the back of the bottle, the top part of the label peels back to reveal the ingredients and sticks back down again so just the barcode is showing. Nivea Invisible is a roller ball antiperspirant deodorant, there is a clear ball on top of the bottle which evenly spreads the deodorants onto your under arm, this is covered my a large rounded clear plastic lid, this simply screws on and off of the top of the bottle. The Deodorant Nivea Antiperspirant Invisible deodorant is totally clear (this can be seen through the glass bottle) and also seems to be of quite a thick consistency. The deodorant has quite a strong fragrance to it, this is quite floral, I did think that when applied it was going to be a bit over powering however this was not the case although I could smell the deodorant when applied to my underarms it was quite subtle and pleasant. The deodorant is described as being gentle and caring, however I thought that it could be a bit harsh on the skin under my arms due to the strong fragrance it had, after I had had the deodorant on for a few hours I had experienced no problems at all, I continued wearing the deodorant everyday and even after constant wear I still had not problems with it irritating my skin, so despite the strong fragrance it really was gentle on my skin and it not irritate it at all. The main factor with Nivea Invisible deodorant is that it leaves no white marks ok black clothing and no yellow marks on white clothing, this was going to be the real test when I first tried the deodorant. My Opinion As I have said the main test with my new Nivea Invisible antiperspirant was going to be whether it left marks on my clothes, mainly my black tops and dress, I first tried the deodorant before work where I mostly wear dark tops, usually when I have applied my deodorant I have to make sure it is fully dried before putting my top on otherwise I end up with white marks on it, however with Nivea Invisible I could apply the deodorant and put my top straight on and it left no white marks at all, I was very impressed. I have never really had a problem with deodorant leaving yellow marks on white clothing but after the positive experience I had with wearing the deodorant with my black/ dark tops I was confident that I would not have any problems with this in the future. I will definitely be applying this deodorant on the morning of my wedding as I will be able to feel confident that no marks will be left on my dress by the deodorant. Nivea Invisible is an antiperspirant deodorant, I can happily apply the deodorant in the morning and feel fresh all day, it really does work. Nivea Invisible is said to work for 48 hours, although I have never tried wearing it for 48 hours at a time I do not feel like I need to continuously re-apply throughout the day, it definitely works all day, even on a particularly hot day, and it does get quite hot in the office at work, despite this I still feel fresh and can smell the floral fragrance of the deodorant. Price I purchase my bottle of Nivea Invisible from Superdrug and it was on offer for £1.00, it may have been an introductory offer at the time, the price was what caught my attention as well as the fact that it was suitable for white and black clothing, I'm not actually sure how much the 50ml bottle is when sold at full price as it is still on offer in my local Superdrug, however I think I would buy this product when full price (obviously withi dark items of clothing or yellow marks on white clothing, I have had not problems with this at all and can confidently wear any colour clothing, I would recommend this product to anyone. n reason) as it really is of an excellent quality. Nivea Invisible is also proving to be long lasting, I have had my 50ml bottle several weeks now and have applied it everyday at least once, sometimes twice if I have gone out in the evening and there is still well over half of the deodorant left so it has been well worth the money. I would definitely recommend Nivea Invisible, it is an excellent antiperspirant that keeps you feeling and smelling fresh all day, it is reasonably priced as well as long lasting. On top of that this deodorant really does work in that it does not leave white marks on
