      Advantages

      Disadvantages

its good for a first year, but it is a rip off, and the bar aint cheap

Kirkstall Brewery is lovely, but boy do you pay for it! I am in an en suite room which is costing me £96 a week.
On the Leeds Met website it says that it's only a 20 minute walk away, but it takes a good 40 minutes, and by the time I get there I'm all sweaty. The SU bar is NOT cheap, unless its a special night like themed work etc.
It's lovely, the rooms are enough and the kitchen is more than enough, but in my building, there are no living rooms or common rooms.

Advantages: security on hand 24h and if anything in the flat is broken, its max 24 hours til they come fix it. Also bills included in rent, and free internet.

Disadvantages: can be loud at 3am when everyone comes home, and its 2 mile away from Headingley campus...and its a hundred pound a week.

If I could decide again, I would have chosen Opal, I think. The rooms are bigger, and although you would have to get a bus to uni, it's right in the centre of town....easy for those nights out!

Kirkstall Brewery. Converted recently into student flats with rooms for over 1000 students this is the place to stay for a first year student going to Leeds Met. The complex has its own bar (essential for all students) laundry (essential for most) gym, snooker room, shop, large screen TV showing all the footie matches and canteen for those who can't be bothered to cook. The flats accommodate between four and six people and all are double-glazed and central heated with good sized bedrooms and a communal kitchen eating/area. The price ranges between £52 per week for a standard room and £57 per week for an ensuite room. The complex is completely fenced off and there is 24 hour security guard presence and plenty of cameras and also staff living on site. This is the place to stay to meet people and to have a good time like all students should. The complex is about a half an hour walk uphill to the Beckett place campus but there is a bus service just for residences to Beckett park in mornings and evenings.
